Multisite
Several sites, one foundation

One foundation, several websites.
Does your organisation have several brands, locations, countries or audiences? Then you quickly end up managing several websites, each with its own technology, design and management. That costs time and money and makes it hard to stay consistent. With a multisite, all your websites run on one technical foundation and you manage them from one environment, while each site keeps its own face.
We design and build a shared foundation with a set of page types and building blocks that apply to all websites, such as a homepage, text page, overview and contact page. For each website, we add the page types needed only there, such as vacancies, locations or an events calendar. Each site gets its own colour, imagery, tone and domain, suited to its audience. That way you design and build once, and every website benefits from each improvement. New websites are also easy to add later. The setup follows from your brand architecture: how do the brands relate to each other, and how is that reflected online?

Defining the structure
Together we decide which websites are needed, for which audiences and how they relate to each other. Which pages and features are shared and what is unique to each site?

Designing the foundation
We design one foundation with shared page types and components. Then we develop each website's own look, with its own colour, imagery and tone suited to its audience.

Building
We build the shared foundation and each website's own page types, managed from one CMS. Roles and permissions make sure each team only manages its own website.

Rolling out
We take the websites live, often in stages. First the site with the most functionality, then the others follow on the same foundation. That keeps it clear and manageable.

What a multisite delivers
Efficient
Design and build once, and every improvement benefits all websites.
Consistent
All websites share the same quality and recognisable foundation.
Scalable
You easily add a new website, location or language.
When your organisation needs several websites that have a lot in common. Think of an organisation with several brands or operating companies, a company with locations or countries, or an organisation with separate sites for customers and for recruitment.
Whether a multisite fits is linked to your brand architecture. In it, we decide how your brands relate to each other and what that means for your websites.
Through colour, imagery, tone and content. The foundation and the building blocks are shared, but for each site we set up its own colour palette, imagery and copy. That way you can see straight away which website you are on, while the coherence remains visible.
In the design system we define which elements can vary per site.
Yes. With roles and permissions, we decide who can manage which website or which parts. That way a location or operating company can maintain its own content, while the central marketing department keeps the overview and manages shared content in one place.
Certainly. A multisite combines well with multiple languages. You can create a separate website per language, or offer several languages within one website. In a headless CMS such as Strapi, you manage translations side by side in a clear way.
We bring them together on the new foundation. We map out what content there is, what is kept and how the old URLs redirect to the new structure. That way your visibility is preserved. Read more about content migration.
During the transition, we can also carry over existing connections, such as a recruitment system or CRM, through integrations.
Yes, that is one of the biggest advantages. You create a new website on the existing foundation, with its own look and content. That is much faster and more cost-effective than building a completely new website. Functionality built for one website can also easily be used on other sites later.
