Brand guidelines

Guidelines anyone can apply

Your brand in good hands, even without us.

A brand stands or falls with consistency. Brand guidelines define how your logo, colours, typography, imagery and tone are used. That way everyone who works with your brand can make the same choices: your marketing team, your colleagues, your printer and other agencies. That prevents your brand from slowly falling apart into separate interpretations.

We create brand guidelines your team will actually use. Not a thick document full of rules, but a practical guide with clear examples. We define how your logo and its variants are applied, which colours and typefaces you use, which graphic elements and patterns belong to it, how you choose images and how your brand sounds. With do's and don'ts, so it is clear at a glance. We also decide together which materials your team can create themselves and which are better handled by a designer. You receive the guidelines together with a brand asset library with logo exports, typefaces and images.

Inventory

Together we decide who the guidelines are for and where your brand is applied. Online, offline, internal and external. That way we know which topics and examples must not be missing.

02

Capturing

We capture the elements of your identity: logo with variants, colour, typography, graphic elements, imagery and tone of voice. Each element with clear rules and examples.

Applying

We show how the identity works on your most important materials, such as website, social media, presentations, print and signage. That way you see straight away how it works in practice.

Delivering

You receive the guidelines as a well-organised document or online environment, together with a brand asset library. We walk your team through everything, so everyone can get started straight away.

What brand guidelines deliver

01

Consistent

Every touchpoint feels like the same brand, whoever creates it.

02

Independent

Your team and other partners can work with your brand themselves.

03

Efficient

Fewer questions, fewer corrections and faster production of new materials.

  • At a minimum your logo with variants and usage rules, your colour palette with codes for print and digital, typography and hierarchy, graphic elements and patterns, and your imagery. We often also define the tone of voice and show examples of applications.

If your organisation has several brands or labels, we also describe how they relate to each other according to the brand architecture.

  • That depends on your organisation and who works with your brand. A well-organised PDF is handy for smaller teams and external parties. An online environment is easier to search, simple to keep up to date and ideal when many people work with your brand.

Either way, you get a brand asset library with logos, typefaces and images that can be downloaded directly.

  • Yes. We review your existing identity and capture what is there. We often find that elements are missing, such as a developed colour palette, a secondary typeface or a clear imagery style. We add those.

Sometimes it turns out the identity is due for a refresh. Then we first recommend sharpening the visual identity, so the guidelines describe a strong foundation.

  • By making them practical and introducing them. We write the guidelines in plain language, with plenty of examples and do's and don'ts. At delivery, we walk your team through them.

Even more effective are ready-made templates for presentations, social posts and documents. Then your team does not have to remember the rules, because they are already built into the templates.

  • Brand guidelines apply to all touchpoints, from print to social media. A design system is aimed at digital products such as your website, platform or app, and contains the components and rules used to build them. The design system follows the brand guidelines, but goes into more detail.

  • Certainly. A brand evolves, and the guidelines grow with it. We easily add new applications, sub-labels or campaigns. With an online environment, that is quickest. Many clients have the guidelines maintained as part of ongoing design.
