Structure and UX

A site that works logically for every visitor

A website that feels logical.

Visitors decide within seconds whether they are in the right place. If they cannot find what they are looking for quickly, they are gone. A well-thought-out structure and user experience make sure every visitor finds their way: from first impression to the answer to their question, and from there to contact, an enquiry or a purchase. That starts long before anything is designed.

We start with the question of who visits your website and what those people want to achieve. With desk research, an analysis of your current website and interactive sessions with the people involved in the website, we map out goals, audiences and content. This results in user flows per audience and a sitemap with the structure of your new website. Next, we develop the most important pages as wireframes: schematic sketches that show which information goes where and how the visitor moves through the site. That way we discuss the logic first, and only then the look.

01

Discovery

We analyse your current website, your audiences and your market. In interactive sessions we align goals, priorities and scope. That way we lay a shared foundation for the new website.

02

User flows

For each audience, we describe the route someone takes to reach their goal. From the first page to the contact form, the enquiry or the purchase. That creates a shared picture of how the website should work.

Sitemap

We translate the flows into a sitemap with the page structure and navigation. We decide which page types are needed, such as a service page, case or vacancy, and how they relate to each other.

Wireframes

We develop the most important pages as wireframes, with an advice flowchart for the functionality. In two feedback rounds we refine them until all information and features have a logical place.

What a good structure delivers

01

User-friendly

Visitors quickly find what they are looking for and immediately understand where they are.

02

More conversion

A logical route leads more visitors to contact, an enquiry or a purchase.

03

Less risk

Choices are made before anything is designed and built. That prevents costly changes later.

  • Because a beautiful website that does not work logically delivers little. By defining the structure and flows first, we make the important choices at the moment they are still easy to change. Choose first, then design.

In the UI design phase, we then develop the wireframes into a full design, on a foundation that has already been tested.

  • A wireframe is a schematic sketch of a page, without colours, images or final copy. It shows which information is on a page, in which order and which features belong to it.

That way we can discuss the content and the logic without being distracted by the look. Wireframes are also the basis for the components in your design system.

  • The people involved in the website who know what visitors ask. That can be the founder or the marketing team, but also colleagues from sales, customer service or HR. They hear every day which questions customers and applicants have.

From Mandelo, a UX designer and a project manager take part.

  • Yes, if it is available. Visitor data shows which pages are visited a lot, where people drop off and what they search for. Keyword research also helps to understand which questions people have.

Are there no proper measurements yet? Then we set them up on the new website, so you can steer on data in the future.

  • A good structure is the foundation for SEO and GEO. We make sure the page structure matches what your audience searches for, that important pages are easy to reach and that pages link to each other logically.

When renewing an existing website, we map out which pages currently perform well, so those rankings are preserved in the content migration.

  • UX stands for user experience: how the website works and feels. Structure, navigation, flows and the logic of pages. UI stands for user interface: how the website looks. Colour, typography, imagery and the styling of every element.

We start with UX and then develop the UI. Together they form the basis for a website that works and convinces.
